Arup Associates continues to grow in response to a diverse range of
opportunities in national and international environments. As a result,
we're delighted to let you know that James Finestone, Marcus Lee, Hal
Currey and Kim Quazi are joining the leadership. These four exceptional architects founded the critically acclaimed FLACQ. The experience and skill they bring to Arup Associates is invaluable.
This move reflects the universal appeal of Arup Associate's meritocratic, forward-looking design studio. Ours is a culture that has seen generations of creative individuals continue to work in Ove Arup's spirit as guardians of the practice and its innovative outlook.
Other members of the FLACQ team have also chosen to join Arup Associates. They will act as an integrated part of Arup Associates' design teams and will reinforce the practice's Unified Design ethos; a way of working still focused on Ove's universal vision for a humane, people centered architecture.

Ropemaker, British Land’s commercial development near Moorgate achieved Practical Completion on 8th May
Incorporating office and retail facilities, the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ development builds on British Land’s ethos of sustainable design and the importance of flexibility for modern office buildings.
The Ropemaker façade design is an exemplar of the integration of architectural treatment with environmental performance; the design team created a bespoke tilting façade system which reduces the energy required for cooling by up to 27% compared to a flat façade.

Architects and Engineers at Arup Associates and Arup have completed an installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels at the Druk White Lotus School in Ladakh, Northern India.
Taking full advantage of the school’s high altitude and clear skies the first phase of PV panels capture enough energy to supply reliable, renewable power to the whole school site. Staff and pupils can now enjoy access to electric lighting, computers and other modern appliances. Classrooms have been fitted with electrical sockets, enabling teaching aids such as DVD and CD to be used as part of lessons.
